    Description

    The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applications for two full-time, open-rank academic general faculty members (teaching track, non-tenure eligible) to teach introductory and other general management courses beginning August 2024. These positions will entail teaching 18 credit hours.

    Qualifications

    These positions are open rank. Positions at the lecturer ranks (lecturer, senior lecturer, or distinguished lecturer, depending on experience and qualifications) teach only undergraduate courses and candidates at this level must have a master's degree in a suitable field. Positions with graduate teaching expectations carry professorial rank (assistant professor, associate professor, or professor, depending on experience and qualifications) and require a Ph.D. in a suitable field. All candidates must have previous, relevant teaching experience commensurate with the rank they are seeking. 

    Teaching assignments will include some combination of the following courses and will be determined based on the teaching expertise of the candidate and needs of the school:

    • Foundations of Commerce (1000-level introductory course)
    • Organizational Behavior (3000-level introductory course)
    • Strategic Management (3000-level core course)
    • Other General Management topics as needed (4000-level elective courses); possible topics include but are not limited to Global Management, Consulting, and Managing Sustainable Development, among others
