Dr. Virginie Kidwell (University of North Texas) and I are working to put together a symposium focused on workplace inclusion for this year's Academy of Management Conference. Our contribution to the symposium focuses on neurodivergence at work, and we are seeking to engage with scholars performing work that examines the salience, mechanisms, and implications of neurodiversity hiring initiatives and/or broader diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in organizations. With recent reframing of neurodivergence as a skill (e.g., #dyslexicthinking) we wish to shine a light on the neurodivergent worker, their contributions, and the environmental challenges that impede neurodivergent workers from optimal performance in organizations. We are seeking 4 – 5 papers on neurodiversity and/or DEI initiatives that also examine the contributions and challenges faced by targets of these programs.
