    Dear Colleagues

We are currently preparing a proposal for a Presenter Symposium entitled "Navigating uncertain times – how do individuals design their work-life nexus via remote work?" for the Academy of Management Annual Meeting to be held on August 4-8, 2023 in Boston.

In line with the current AOM theme "Putting the Worker Front and Center", this symposium aims to shed light on the current state of work flexibility induced by remote work and how individuals use this to remove frictions and optimize their lives, and what new challenges arise from this form of work. By presenting and discussing topics such as geographic mobility, spatial relocation, new employment opportunities, job integration and adapting lifestyles to work from anywhere like workations, we aim to shed more light on the new reality of workers around the globe from both a theoretical and practical perspective. We look forward to your contribution to our symposium.

With that in mind, we would like to invite you to submit a paper to this symposium. If you are interested in presenting a paper that fits within the symposium's theme, please let us know by sending an initial short abstract to almina.besic@jku.at by December 9th, 2022.

Important deadlines to keep in mind:

    • December 9th: Initial short Abstract
    • December 13th: Decision on Abstract.
    • December 23rd: Detailed Abstract (Two- to five-page synopsis of your paper as per AOM style)
    • January 4th: Revised Detailed Abstract incorporating reviewer feedback
    • January 11th: Symposium submission by organizers
    • End of March: Notification of Acceptance of the Symposium by AOM
    • July 10th: Paper to be emailed to almina.besic@jku.at (Hyperlink) to allow time for the Symposium Discussant to read before the conference.

We look forward to receiving your initial abstract by December 9th.
