    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Department of Health Policy and Management in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health (FSPH) is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Director of the MPH Program. The Fielding School of Public Health is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). The Department's MPH degree currently includes both a health policy track and a health management track. The MPH Program Director is a high-profile position with significant potential for impacting the Department's students, faculty, and FSPH in advancing our mission to foster the training of exemplary professionals and leaders in public health.

    Responsibilities:
    The Director has primary responsibility for the management of both tracks within the MPH program in Health Policy and Management and providing active developmental leadership consistent with the requirements of a CEPH-accredited program. The Director will be actively involved in all aspects of the MPH program, including teaching masters-level courses based on expertise, advising students, managing summer field placements, conducting outreach to stakeholders in the local and state health industry, recruiting students and playing a leadership role in the admissions process, managing a mentoring program that matches students with industry-based alumni mentors, overseeing curriculum development, overseeing compliance with accreditation requirements and reporting, and coordinating activities with the Department's active alumni association. The Director supervises one full-time staff member, the MPH Program Coordinator.

    Qualifications:
    Qualifications include a strong record of program administration and an earned doctorate in health administration, health services research, health economics, health policy, business administration, or other relevant field. We will also consider exceptional individuals with an MPH, MHA, or MBA and significant experience. Previous leadership or experience with an accredited MPH or allied health program is preferred. Qualified applicants who meet University requirements for teaching and establishing an active research agenda may be considered for an additional appointment in the adjunct faculty series.
