    Dear all,

We invite paper submissions for the second Global Innovation and Intellectual Property Conference, scheduled to be held on May 25-26, 2024, in the beautiful city of Hangzhou, China. (See the event page for details.) The conference is co-sponsored by Washington University in St. Louis, Zhejiang University, and Peking University.

We welcome both empirical and theoretical research in the realms of innovation and intellectual property (IP) in the global context. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

    ·         What are the realities on the ground and what are the important trends that may shed light to the future?

    ·         What are the strategic tradeoffs for multinational companies innovating and competing across countries?

    ·         How do IP laws, technological change, and geopolitical tensions intersect, and what are the tools businesses can use to navigate the constantly evolving landscape?

Confirmed keynote speakers and discussants include Kenneth Huang (NUS), Catherine Magelssen (LBS), Tony Tong (UC-Boulder), Yanbo Wang (HKU), Bernard Yeung (NUS), Shaker Zaheer (UMN), and Yanfeng Zheng (HKUST).

Scholars interested in presenting at the conference should send an extended research proposal (7-10 pages) or working paper to Minyuan Zhao (minyuan@wustl.edu) no later than March 31. Decisions on paper acceptance will be made before April 10. For papers selected for presentation, we will provide (1) quality discussion during the conference and (2) up to three nights of accommodation for the presenting author.

Registration for all participants will be open in mid-March. Please email minyuan@wustl.edu if you have any questions.

    Best,

    co-organizers

Can Huang, Changqi Wu, Minyuan Zhao
