Supporting an Academy of Management Board of Governors initiative, AMJ is expanding its Manuscript Portfolio: We invite authors to submit Research Methods articles designed to advance theory and span boundaries.

Starting January 1st, 2024, Academy of Management Journal is expanding the types of manuscripts considered for publication to include methodological articles, thereby highlighting the critical role that methods play in theory development and testing.

Congruent with the overall mission of AMJ, our vision is that methods articles published in AMJ will be a catalyst for theory development. In this sense, we are looking for specific types of methodological articles – namely, articles that clearly illustrate how an advancement in methods or application of methods from other fields could lead to substantive changes in how management theory is developed and tested. Furthermore, consistent with the notion that AMJ is a "big tent" journal that offers a home for scholars across all areas and discipline of the Academy of Management, methods manuscripts should strive to be of broad relevance and span boundaries in terms of being applicable to multiple audiences – such as quantitative and qualitative researchers, micro and macro researchers, and/or researchers in different AoM divisions and interest groups. In addition, AMJ's methods papers should provide sample hypotheses and should be written in a way that is accessible to a wide scholarly audience.

Authors are invited to submit their research methods articles via AMJ's manuscriptcentral submission website from January 1st, 2024. Received papers will be handled by AMJ's editorial team and, in particular, a newly added group of methods-focused editors: Paul Bliese (Univ. of South Caroline) as new Deputy Editor, and our three new Associate Editors - Trevis Certo (Arizona State Univ.), Anne S.mith (Univ. of Tennessee), and Mo Wang (Univ. of Florida).

We also invite prospective authors to read our forthcoming "From the Editors" article in AMJ's first issue of 2024.
