Please join us in congratulating this year's recipient of the TIM Emerging Scholar Award: Dr. Callen Anthony!
Dr. Anthony will tell us more about her work and her path at this year's annual Academy of Management conference. The award session will be held on Monday, August 12 from 11am-noon in the Arkansas Room of the Sheraton Hotel (session 13729).
Callen Anthony is Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations. She received her BA in Business Administration from Western University's Ivey Business School and her MSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford. She earned her PhD in Organization Studies from Boston College's Carroll School of Management. Professor Anthony's research focuses on the relationship between cognition and innovation. Specifically, she studies the role of new analytical technologies in the production of knowledge; how interpretations shape competitive dynamics during the emergence of new technologies and technology-enabled industries; and the effects of identity on innovation choices. Her current projects are set in contexts that include finance, musical instruments, and ferry boats. In addition, Professor Anthony sits on the editorial boards of Administrative Science Quarterly and Organization Science.
The TIM Emerging Scholar Award is given annually to a scholar who has completed their PhD in the last 7 years and whose scholarship shows exceptional quality and great promise of becoming influential in the area of technology and innovation management. Nominations are solicited each year and the winner is selected by a committee comprised of current and past TIM Division Chairs.
