Call for Participants: AoM PDW "The Co-constitution of Trust and Institutions: Construction, Crisis, and Erosion"
We're excited to invite you to join us for a stimulating PDW on the Construction, Crisis, and Erosion of Trust and Institutions, sponsored by OMT, SIM, SAP, MOC, and TIM Divisions! We highlight a constitutive view of institutions as configurations of beliefs, norms, practices, and infrastructure, which form an essential basis for constructing trust. Yet, at the same time, a broad range of global crises and societal challenges are precipitating a significant decline and erosion of trust in core societal institutions. In this PDW, we aim to develop a research agenda focused on the co-constitution of trust and institutions. We will bring together established scholars in this emerging field, directors from the Edelman Trust Institute, and junior scholars and doctoral students from around the world. This timely agenda will enable participants to formulate novel research questions on institutional trust and to enhance the impact and relevance of their work through scholar-practitioner collaboration.

Format: This is a three-part PDW, consisting of an opening plenary, a breakout roundtable session, and a closing plenary. Panel presentations and roundtable discussions are open to all AOM 2024 attendees. We welcome and strongly encourage you to indicate your preferred roundtable discussion topic.
