    Call for Abstracts
Open Innovation in Science (OIS) Research Conference 2023
    May 8-10, 2023 | Vienna, Austria; hybrid

    ***apologies for cross-posting***

    Dear colleagues,

We invite you to join the discussion about the role and value of openness and collaboration in scientific research at the upcoming 4th OIS Research Conference. This year, the special conference theme focuses on SYNERGIES AND TENSIONS AROUND IMPACT: HOW DOES OIS COME INTO PLAY? Hence, we will critically reflect upon the influence of openness and collaboration on achieving scientific and societal impact. Do OIS practices promote societal impact at the expense of scientific productivity? Or, do they help us to achieve both and, if so, under what conditions?

Works both empirical and conceptual in nature are welcome and abstracts (250-500 words in length) can be submitted through the submission platform (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=oisresearchconference23). Please see our Call for Abstracts for more details: https://bit.ly/3SaAeXQ

    Submission deadline: January 20, 2023

Researching OIS includes investigating whether, how, and under which conditions applying open and collaborative practices along one or more stages of the scientific research process influences novelty, efficiency, and/or the impact of scientific research, taking a balanced view that recognizes important contingency factors on the individual, organizational, and ecosystem-level.

In addition to the paper presentation sessions and opportunities for socializing, the conference program includes keynotes, panel debates, an OIS experimentation session related to this year's special conference theme.

    Best regards,

The Organizing Team - Susanne Beck, Christoph Grimpe, Marion Poetz, and Henry Sauermann
