     Dear colleagues,

Following Covid19, but also long before, many academics have been navigating work, family and personal demands that have shaped our ability to work fully in person. Integrating this reality in how we approach our work is the basis of this panel.

A recent article describes that since the onset of Covid19, around half of the US working population spent at least one day a week working remotely, with significant variation across industries. Also, several studies have documented higher job satisfaction and productivity following the implementation of work from home or work from anywhere policies. However, there is also evidence the proverbial (or actual) water cooler conversations and serendipitous interactions engender novel ideas and collaborations. How to navigate these considerations in the face of various work and personal life demands, especially since Covid19? Our esteemed panelists will share their individual experiences with remote work in academia and provide practical tips in how to make it work.

    Panel:

    Victor Bennett, University of Utah

    Mahka Moeen, UNC

    Phebo Wibbens, INSEAD
