Join us for our PDW "Explaining ourselves: crafting and communicating an academic identity narrative"
at Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2024 (Chicago)

We seek to lift the curtain on the "messy" nature of crafting who we are as academic and what we do. Early career academics face many challenges – how to move from student to post-doc or tenure – track positions? How to create and sustain positive relationships and collaborations with colleagues or mentors? How to authentically distinguish oneself from the crowd? Crafting an identity narrative to share with others is a central strategy to overcome these hurdles (Ibarra & Lineback, 2005) yet it is not without difficulties.

Our program contains a keynote, expert talks, speed dating and roundtable discussions. Join us for this exciting and hands-on PDW.

    Our distinguished speaker is:

    • Shelley Brickson, Uni. of Illinois at Chicago.

Her talk is followed with talks by our fabulous set of panelists:

    • Malia Mason, Columbia University
    • Daniel Milner, Oklahoma State University
    • Florencio Portocarrero, London School of Economics
    • Ajnesh Prasad, Tecnologico de Monterrey
