In this PDW we propose to analyse (i) how the host societies and environment in Latin America are being impacted by the growth of Chinese trade and investments, and (ii) the social and environmental challenges faced by both foreign investors and hosts. The workshop will draw on conclusions, experiences, and feedback gained from studies on the relations between China and Latin America and on corporate social responsibility and social engagement. There will also be an analysis of different case studies to provide empirical evidence of the trends being discussed. The objective for the PDW is to analyse the different sides of this emerging research area while at the same time attempting to devise routes to continue the development of a strong and self-sustaining body of literature on management education (and specifically on social and environmental engagement) in emerging markets.
Best,
Gaston
