Call for Abstracts & Professional Development Workshop Participants The 5th Sustainability, Ethics and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Research Conference Denver, Colorado, USA May 15-18, 2016
www.seeconf.org Abstract Submission Deadline: January 24, 2016 PDW Submission Deadline: March 1, 2016 The Sustainability, Ethics, and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Conference draws on knowledge from diverse disciplines. These include but are not limited to studies on sustainability, social & sustainable entrepreneurship, business ethics, firm-community ties, environmental impacts, and resource management. Thus, the SEE Conference is a platform for featuring edgy research, ideas and theories, while fostering collaborative efforts, and building a worldwide network of scholars who advance the state of knowledge about SEE-related research. Abstract Submission Guidelines We invite submissions of empirical research (including ethnographic and qualitative research) and conceptual studies. We are particularly interested in radical, controversial, and "edgy" projects; novel, useful, and non-obvious research that challenges dogmas and is highly revelatory, even if not fully grounded in well-studied or well-validated theory. Abstracts should not to exceed two single-spaced pages and limited to 1,250 words that address a broad array of subjects on the topics of sustainability, ethics, and entrepreneurship (including social and impact entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, sustainable supply chains, etc.). Those selected by a double-blind review process will be asked to present their research. See a sample of topics at the end of this document. Abstract Submission Deadline: January 24, 2016 Authors should submit their abstracts at

dan.bruder@colostate.edu Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas: • How does strategy differ when firms are not constituted as vehicles of private wealth accumulation but are owned by communities of members or government? • How do companies repair their relationships with customers after activists tarnish their reputation? • How, when, and under what conditions do companies know that they are truly sustainable? Is there a finish line? • Under what conditions can firms integrate social and environmental responsibility efforts with their business model while continuing to maximize shareholder value? • How and when a business might seek sustainability to achieve competitive advantage? • What can scholarship in supply chain management do to advance research, theory, and practice related to the design and implementation of sustainability, business ethics, and corporate social responsibility? • In a capitalist system, wealth and value are measured in monetary units: what is social value, how is social value measured, and how do social value and economic value interact and shape each other? • Free markets and competition have brought many benefits (e.g., the average individual material wellbeing has improved markedly, even if the variance is distressing). How does this increasing but uneven material prosperity relate to human wellbeing, sustainability and entrepreneurship? • How does market competition affect the fabric of trust and social value within and between different organizational forms? • How does one gain better understanding of sustainable and ethical entrepreneurship? • What are most useful conceptual models and empirical analysis of the antecedents, consequences, and contingencies associated with the processes of sustainable and ethical entrepreneurship? • What is the role of ethical behavior in the growth, survival, and sustainability of new ventures? • What are the roles of economic and institutional systems in motivating ethical and sustainable behaviors?
