Dear members of the Iberoamerican list: I am this year, chairing the Carolyn Dexter Award, and will be chairing the International Theme Committee next year.

Since I joined the Academy on 2006 I´ve been involved on ITC with a strong purpose on working to internationalize the Academy with special focus on Latin-America, due to the circumstance that Iberoamerica is underrepresented at the organization.

In fact this year 22 papers were submitted to the Carolyn Dexter Award, 65 authors...None from Iberoamerica!!.

I think that being much involved on the ITC is a way to contribute to expand the Academy, and their branches on Iberoamerica.

I will suggest some ways to be involved, that I hope some of you will "pick up".

    1)      We are now on the process of "Call for NOMINATIONS and SELF-NOMINATIONS for LEADERSHIP TRACK starting with CHAIR, EMERALD BEST INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM AWARD progressing through Dexter Chair, ITC PDW Chair, ITC Chair, and Past ITC Chair". If some of you could be interested I will email the complete call . Please don´t hesitate to contact myself for any further information.

    2)     Come to our ITC business meeting. I began just being a member on 2006, and I became a Chair on 2012. Everybody is welcome. Just email me and I will invite you. Join us onSunday, Aug 3 2014 12:00PM - 2:00PM at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel in Salon 9

    3)      Come to Carolyn Dexter Reception where the award will be announced. Sunday, Aug 3 2014 2:00PM - 4:00PM at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel in Freedom E, F.

    4)      Consider your next paper one to be submitted to the Carolyn Dexter Award, or submit your PDW to the ITC. We are focus on internationalization and of course, we are less competitive than Divisions, so you will have more probability that your PDW will be accepted.

    5)      Consider yourself to self-nominate to be a reviewer for the ITC Awards, PDW or Sympossiums. More reviewers from Iberoamerica is also a way to make Iberoamerican members more active at the Academy.

Thank you for your consideration on taking the time for reading this email, don´t hesitate to contact myself anytime you have any question. And if you want to share more ways to expand the Academy on Iberoamerican countries¨ including new sponsors for our Awards, you are really welcome.
