Greetings!
At EOS, we are delighted to announce a series of hands-on Masterclasses designed for scholars who want to sharpen their practical skills for running experiments about organizations. This series will feature four scholars at the leading edge of developing and implementing organizational experiments who will give Masterclasses with an interactive and applied focus.
1. Kathrin Heiss (University of Salzburg)
October 21, 10am-11am EST / 4pm - 5pm CET
Implementing an organizational experiment in otree
Kathrin will lead a live, hands-on session of the programming and implementation of a simple organizational experiment in otree. Participants will receive instructions to set up a development environment ahead of the session and will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with otree programming (e.g., setting up settings file, creating treatments).
2. Jonas Frey (University of Gothenburg)
November 18, 10am-11am EST / 4pm - 5pm CET
Advanced topics for organizational experiments in otree
As a follow-up to the previous Masterclass, Jonas will lead a Masterclass covering advanced topics in otree for organizational experiments. Key topics include: using LLMs to write otree code for organizational experiments, methods for detecting if participants used LLMs when completing organizational experiments, saving and storing intermediate page states for dynamically changing pages
3. Mads Kock Skøtt (Aarhus University)
December 16, 10am-11am EST / 4pm - 5pm CET
Artificial in organizational confederates
Mads will show how to build and use artificial (bot) confederates in organizational experiments. Topics include: using bots as part of experimental treatments in organizational research, design challenges in building artificial confederates in organizational experiments, lessons learned and implementing artificial confederates in organizational experiments
4. Mana Saki (Rotterdam School of Management)
January 20, 10am-11am EST / 4pm - 5pm CET
Tentative topic: Programming experiments in Qualtrics with Javascript
Mana will give a Masterclass on programming experiments in Qualtrics/Smartriqs. More details to follow.
