We seek a young scholar (doctoral student or faculty) interested in corporate boardroom social dynamics, who would like to join a project as co-author. We have transcripts of 31 board meetings across five years that have already been coded (including a measure of conflict) and also AI coded (focusing on stress experienced by the board). We are also gathering data on financial distress associated with each board meeting. The question is whether/how conflict dynamics in board meetings are affected by financial distress. This project might interest scholars who focus on boards, governance, group dynamics, and/or conflict. The current team includes Steve Currall (Professor, South Florida), Ray Friedman (Professor, Vanderbilt), Tove Hammer (Emeritus Professor, Cornell), and Ningyu Han (Data Science student, Vanderbilt).
