    Research Laboratory Coordinator, Texas McCombs School of Business

    The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Full-Time Laboratory Coordinator position for the Rosenbaum Center for Behavioral Business Studies (RCBS). The RCBS is located in the College of Business Administration building. It can accommodate research involving group interactions, remote behavioral (camera) observation and recording, and computer-based studies of groups of 20 or more participants at a time.

    The position involves managing the lab's resources across multiple disciplines in the business school. The lab coordinator will work closely with the McCombs Behavioral Lab Committee, faculty members, PhD students, and a group of undergraduate research assistants to run behavioral studies using participants from multiple participant pools.
    The experience gained in this position can prepare one to successfully apply to a PhD program. Previous Lab
    Coordinators have moved on to doctoral programs in psychology, management, and marketing.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Hiring, training, and supervising undergraduate research assistants to staff the lab

    • Collaborating with faculty members and Ph.D. students to coordinate and mentor undergraduate research assistants for supporting data-related assignments

    • Conducting behavioral experiments (in individual, dyadic, and small group contexts) in the lab and remote settings
    - Managing lab study reservations and respondent allocation to faculty members
    - Pretesting study procedures to ensure quality control and time allocation
    - Preparing lab facilities prior to data collection
    - Conducting behavioral studies and experiments involving an EEG headset, eye tracking, and other physiological sensor
    - Facilitating data collection with specialized samples

    • Coordinating multiple participant pools
    - Managing department subject pools
    - Recruitment and coordination of university student/staff paid participant pool
    - Distributing instructions and updates regarding participation pools to participants and faculty
    - Interfacing with IT staff regarding lab computer set-up and equipment
    - Assisting with applications to Institutional Review Board
    - Occasional travel to off-campus locations (occasional)

    Education
    • Required: Bachelor's degree in psychology, marketing, management, organizational behavior or a related field.
    • Preferred: Master's degree in psychology, marketing, management, organizational behavior or a related field.

    Experience:
    Required:
    • Three years of experience coordinating/working in a behavioral research lab.
    • Experience and basic competence with Qualtrics.
    • Experience and basic competence with Sona Systems

    Preferred:
    • Experience with Media Lab.
    • Experience with FaceReader, Cognionics (CGX) and other physiological measurement.
    • Experience with eye-tracking programs Tobii, Aurora, Gazepoint, and/or EyeTech
    • Experience in SPSS, SAS, or R
    • Experience with JavaScript and HTML
    • Experience with Lioness, SMARTRIQ, ChatPlat, and/or ZTree

    Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate including previous work experience or volunteer experience in a lab setting.
