    Posted 05-17-2025 07:14

In this special session prior to the AOM meeting in Copenhagen, we will further explore the impact of policy restrictions on academic work and scholarly exchange through an online dialogue session. This session, open to all AOM members, is led by the DEI division with collaborative support from OMT, SIM, MSR, CMS, and ONE. This session is organized in relation to the recent AOM statement on Academic Freedom, Scientific Inquiry, and Scholarly Exchange of Research (https://lnkd.in/eTffQRsk), and the resources provided in complement to it.

The session will start by introducing the AOM statement and the current state of affairs. In breakout rooms, participants will get the opportunity to:

    1. Share their views and experiences.

    2. Share about ways to navigate the various ways in which they are affected as academics.

    3. Reflect together on how to strengthen the AOM community and support each other going forward.

Groups will enter their summary reflections in a shared online Padlet. The session will end with a plenary wrap up on the basis of the shared padlet, and the padlet will be turned into a pdf shared with all participants and the AOM leadership.
