PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

Underrepresented Scholars in SJDM Networking Event - SJDM Opening Session

Our annual conference will be kicked-off by an opening reception, where you can come and meet your friends and colleagues and make new ones. This year, the opening reception will be structured around welcoming all underrepresented scholars in SJDM and creating networking and mentorship opportunities. All are welcome to join.

Talk sessions

We have an incredible array of 93 speakers ready to present their research this year. We will have three to four concurrent sessions at any given time, and each session will include three talks. Each session will have dedicated Discussants, who will engage with each speaker and the audience to drive thoughtful discussion.

Poster sessions

We have great posters at this year's conference. You can take a virtual stroll through the posters throughout the conference and interact with the presenters during the poster sessions.  Posters will be available for viewing and commenting on for the duration of the conference.

Social Roundtables

We know we can't replicate (get it?) that special in-person feeling during an online conference, but we sure can get close. In fact, last year we got really close with the Social Roundtables event - small group discussions on a variety of topics. Following up on last year's great experience, we have decided to make the Social Roundtables an annual tradition (To the extent that doing something for 2 years in a row counts as 'tradition'. We're sure there's a study on that). These informal get-togethers are hosted by members of our community, and revolve around a specific area of interest. This year, we have some incredible topics, including scholarly conversations, personal development, and community building.

Plenary Sessions: Noise Session, Einhorn Award, Presidential Address, and Keynote Speaker

We will have four special events throughout the conference. Come and support our 2021 Einhorn Award winner, join the Noise Session led by Daniel Kahneman, Olivier Sibony & Cass Sunstein, hear from the President of SJDM, Danny Oppenheimer, and learn more from our Keynote speaker Sendhil Mullainathan.
