    Dear colleagues,

    CONFLICT MANAGEMENT (CM)

PDW Chair: Pri Pradhan Shah, University of Minnesota, pshah@umn.edu
2021 Division PDW Program: Call for Submissions
The Conflict Management (CM) Division invites creative proposals for Professional Development Workshops (PDWs) for the 2021 Academy of Management. While CM PDWs are typically scheduled either the Friday (July 30th) or Saturday (31st) during the Annual Academy of Management Meeting, this year's conference will be virtual, and we encourage both proposals focusing on delivery during this timeframe as well as those with a more fluid schedule for delivery.
PDWs are an opportunity to educate, discuss, interact, and explore various aspects of professional development that benefit doctoral students, junior faculty, senior faculty, and professionals on aspects of teaching, research, practice related to conflict management, negotiation, publishing, use of exercises, classroom management, and so on. PDWs are an opportunity to engage in cutting edge ideas, share expertise and best practices, and to create a forum for thought-provoking discussions. PDW sessions can address any issue of concern to CM scholars or practitioners–or both.
Your proposed PDW should provide an intellectually stimulating experience in both its content and its delivery. PDWs usually vary in length from 2 to 8 hours, and they are delivered in a variety of formats, such as roundtables, panel discussions, research incubators, town hall meetings, or debates. We are open to creative delivery options given that this year's meeting will be virtual. In particular, proposals virtually simulating the rich interactions typical of our in person PDWs are encouraged.
We encourage (but do not require) you to submit proposals that can be co-sponsored with other divisions and that address the conference theme, "Bringing the Manager Back in Management."
Please be sure to follow the Academy of Management's guidelines for submissions. You can submit your proposal via the AOM Submission Center.
The deadline for proposals is Tuesday, 12 January 2020 at 5:00 PM ET (NY Time).
If you have any questions, please contact Pri Shah (PDW Chair) at pshah@umn.edu.
