The Department of Management at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business is accepting applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an emphasis in Human Resource Management (HRM) and/or Organizational Behavior (OB), or a related field (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology).  Preference will be given to those who can teach and contribute to the HRM major (e.g., Intro to HRM and/or Compensation and Benefits Management courses). The ideal candidate will also show evidence of establishing a strong research program targeted at top-tier academic journals in the HRM and/or OB disciplines, and interest in collaborating on research with junior and senior faculty in those disciplines. The candidate should be able to demonstrate their ability to conduct empirical research that is theoretically sound, methodologically rigorous, and managerially relevant. The successful candidate will teach three sections (9 hours) per year, subject to ongoing research productivity.

Although service requirements are limited for tenure-track candidates, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated to serve along with other faculty in the HRM major to the extent appropriate for their rank (tenure-track faculty are protected from extensive service requirements). The HRM major is a highly regarded niche undergraduate program with approximately 40 total students each year (including junior and senior classes). Service includes mentoring HRM students and engaging in planning and delivering professional development and community-building opportunities within the major throughout each academic year.

Overall, applicants will be expected to make a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, and throughout these responsibilities, demonstrate a commitment to authentically living out their Christian faith.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is contingent upon final budgetary approval.

We particularly encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups in higher education.

Members of the hiring committee will conduct preliminary interviews for potential candidates at the Academy of Management (AOM) annual meeting in Boston, and on Zoom for those who will not attend the AOM meeting in person.

The Department of Management's mission is "to fulfill God's mandate to promote human flourishing through 1) researching and teaching the effective management of systems and people, 2) practicing servant leadership and equipping principled leaders, and 3) fostering collaboration and community." We have three undergraduate majors in supply chain management, human resource management, and management, and many of our faculty teach in Baylor's nationally-ranked MBA, online MBA, and executive MBA programs.
