SLU is home to more than 200 years of research excellence. Our research addresses big questions and emerging issues around the globe. In the last few years, SLU researchers have done groundbreaking research on the COVID-19 pandemic, joined regional leaders in transforming St. Louis into a national geospatial hub, and launched six interdisciplinary institutes covering a variety of issues from water to drug discovery to health disparities. Saint Louis University welcomes and values partnerships with industry and organizations interested in advancing research and education. Our faculty and students work side-by-side with experts and professionals to take their research out of the lab and into communities around the world. SLU researchers engage with industry on research, education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and philanthropic partnerships. SLU is in the final year of a $500 million fundraising campaign, and it appears we will surpass that goal. In 2020 SLU opened a new $500 million hospital. In addition, the St. Louis region is a health care hub with many potential partnership opportunities and is a growing home of entrepreneurial start-ups. In fact, St. Louis is one of the top regions in the nation for start-ups, a large portion of which are health care related.
