    Paradox researchers, educators and practitioners span disciplinary and professional boundaries to engage with the contradictory yet interrelated elements of work, life, and society.

    We are organizing the first standalone conference ever completely devoted to paradox research, education and practice and we would like to invite you to participate by submitting an abstract for oral presentation.   

    The PREP Conference will bring together scholars, educators and practitioners from around the world who share a passion for understanding and embracing paradox. The Conference will take place 16-18 March 2022 (1000-1600 CET) and 19 March 2022 (1000-1300 CET), and will cover a mix of abstract presentations, symposia, workshops and keynote presentations that encompass paradox theory, research, education and practice. We will also be honouring Paula Jarzabkowski, Marianne Lewis and Wendy Smith for their contribution to building the paradox scholar community.

    We are open to a number of ways that you can present your ideas and share your experiences, including:

    • New ideas on paradox theory and research. We invite you to present your brand-new ideas on paradox theorizing, emerging research ideas from initial stages of data collection, or new ideas that hope to revive injured papers from the past. We welcome all disciplinary influences and all methodological approaches, as long as they connect to paradox.  
    • Educational insights. We invite you to share insights from your experience teaching about paradox or using paradox for teaching at all levels of education. We welcome tools, methods, practices, and designs aimed at teaching paradox to students (at all levels) and practitioners, and ways to introduce paradox theory and the notion of tensions as an approach to understanding learning more broadly. We welcome contributions to all aspects of education, from design to delivery, and at all levels of tertiary education.
    • Practice insights. We invite you to share insights from your experience working at the boundaries of paradox research and practice. Specifically, we are looking for impact cases of paradox research on practice, examples of research translations for practice, and innovative research-practice collaborations such as those related to action research. We welcome submissions from scholars, practitioners, scholar-practitioners, and scholars and practitioner teams.
