Welcome to the AOM Sport and Management Group!

Whether you’re new to AOM or a long-time member, this space was created to connect people who care about management and sport. We bring together scholars who study the sport industry and scholars who use sport to test, refine, and inspire management theory. If you teach with sport cases, build datasets from sport competitions, run field experiments with teams and leagues, or simply want to explore what sport can reveal about organizations, you’re in the right place. Our aim is simple: help you find collaborators, sharpen your methods, and elevate your teaching – while welcoming new voices into the AOM community.

What you’ll find here is a friendly hub on Connect@AOM for sharing calls for papers and data resources, asking technical and ethics questions, and trading teaching materials. We strive to offer cross-division connections that make large conferences feel “smaller”, and touchpoints across the year that culminate at the Annual Meeting with community gatherings and development sessions. We coordinate with allied associations and regional ambassadors to keep opportunities global and inclusive, and we spotlight emerging scholars through a best-PhD-paper recognition tied to AOM participation.
