Practitioner–Scholars Committee

Committee Update

January 2026

Over the past year, the Practitioner–Scholars Committee has continued its work to strengthen connections between entrepreneurial practice and scholarly research within the ENT Division. Following a leadership transition, I assumed the role of Interim Chair, with Ken Grant continuing to serve as Past Chair and offering guidance and continuity during this transition.

The Committee is now fully staffed and reflects expanded institutional and international representation. We also reviewed several applications for committee service and remain engaged with prospective members as part of our broader efforts to build a sustainable and inclusive practitioner–scholar community.

In terms of initiatives, the Committee ran a Professional Development Workshop at the 2025 Annual Meeting titled Responding to Technology Opportunities and Challenges from GenAI and Dealing with Misinformation: The Role of the Practitioner-Scholar. The session brought together participants across career stages and divisions and emphasized interactive discussion around emerging challenges at the intersection of entrepreneurship, technology, and practice.

The Committee also oversaw the Entrepreneurship Practice Award process. For 2025, the award was presented to Kevin Cox (Florida Atlantic University) for the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp initiative. We look forward to continuing this work through initiatives that support meaningful engagement between scholars and practitioners across the Academy.
