    Call for Chapter Proposals
    Proposal Deadline: November 15th 2013
Full Chapters Due: April 15th 2014
Creative Government-Business Alliances: A Public Solutions Handbook
Edited by Daniel E. Bromberg, Ph.D., University of New Hampshire
    daniel.bromberg@unh.edu
Public Solutions Handbook Series Marc Holzer Ph.D., Rutgers University, Series Editor

    Introduction
Government and business relations are often captured in grand terms and a monolithic manner. The
relationship between the two sectors is described through economic and political philosophies that
are often adversarial and detached from the day to day running of government and business. While
such descriptions and theoretical underpinnings serve an important role they do little to address the
challenges and realities that affect these relationships from the perspective of everyday management.
Measures are taken on a daily basis that bridge the divide between these two sectors and provide
cooperative solutions to complex challenges. This book will explore those solutions.
    Objective
The central objective of this book is to provide an in depth look at government/business relations on
a daily basis. Ideally, chapters will provide examples of successful relationships in which collaborative
efforts solve complex problems. To meet this goal both practitioners and academics are invited to
submit proposal that capture the dynamics of these relationships. While the recommended topics
suggest both specific subjects of interest and broad categories, the book is not limited to these
    suggestions.
    Recommended Topics
    - Benefit Corporations or B Corporations
    - Enforced Self-Regulation
    - Community Reinvestment Act
    - Industry Specific Policy Implementation
    - Partnering: Leveraging Business Resources and Expertise
    - Economic Development
    - Capacity Building
    - Joint Investment
    - Setting Targets and Standards

    Submission Procedure
Researchers, academics and practitioners are invited to submit proposals on or before November 15,
2013 to daniel.bromberg@unh.edu. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by November 30,
2013 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be
submitted by April 15, 2014. All submitted chapters will be subjected to a double-blind review
process. Chapters should be written in a clear, direct manner. Volumes in this series are intended for
practitioners, academics and students. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for
    this project.

    Publisher
The book will be published by M.E. Sharpe in their Public Solutions Handbook Series (Marc Holzer,
Ph.D. Series Editor). M.E. Sharpe is committed to publishing the books in this series in affordable
paperback editions, also with e-book options.
