Behavioral Science & Policy (BSP), the international peer-reviewed journal of the Behavioral Science & Policy Association (BSPA) invites submissions for a Spotlight Topic on Robotics and Policy.
Behavioral Science & Policy features short, accessible articles describing actionable advice for policy makers and practitioners that is firmly grounded in the empirical scientific study of individual, group, and organizational behavior. Submissions undergo a dual review process involving discipline-focused editors to assess scientific rigor and policy-focused editors to assess practicality. Articles recommended for publication also receive feedback from professional writing editors to enhance their appeal to a broad audience of behavioral scientists, policy makers, practitioners, and educated lay readers. Published articles will be available online via open access until compiled into print editions. BSP is not limited to a particular point of view or political ideology.
In addition to regular articles, each issue of BSP feature one or two Spotlight Topics that include a cluster of articles on a particular area of current interest.
BSP invites submissions for a Spotlight on Robotics and Policy, featuring the following topics:
· Autonomous driving
· Social/companion robots
· Medical/care robots
· Effects of robotics on economics and labor
· Issues of scalability, funding, and financial (dis) incentives surrounding adoption of robotics to problems of society
· Legal/regulatory/organizational/professional/ethical constraints on the adoption of robotics to problems of society
To receive consideration for the Behavioral Science & Policy Spotlight on Robotic and Policy, please submit an abstract (max. 600 words) of your article by November 1, 2016 to guest editor Bertram Malle, Brown University (bfmalle@brown.edu). Authors of competitive abstracts will be invited to submit full manuscripts (3000-4000 words) with a deadline of January 15, 2017.
