General Announcements:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please excuse cross-postings
On behalf of my colleagues at Virginia Tech I would like to thank members of
the Academy of Management for your prayers and your expressions of support
and solidarity in the wake of the tragic shootings here this past week.
Although this was a terrible blow to our community it has brought us closer
together in many ways. It has also given us a greater sense of
connectedness with colleagues throughout the world. Anyone who saw the
spontaneous cheering at the end of Tuesday's convocation honoring the
victims or heard the stories of heroism during the attacks knows that while
the "Hokie" spirit here is bruised it is not broken. We pray that we all
might learn something on value from this tragedy.
Sincerely, Rich Wokutch
