    Application Process

Your complete application including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a research paper that best represents your current research profile and teaching evaluations, should be submitted in electronic format to chair_busappts@sfu.ca. Please ask three references to send confidential letters of recommendation directly to chair_busappts@sfu.ca. Applications should clearly specify the competition number (2017APECON) and the position title. Unfortunately, we are unable to process general applications at this time.

For best consideration, complete applications must be received by the initial deadline for applications, December 6, 2017, although applications will be accepted until the position is filled. First-round interviews are likely to be conducted in early January at or at a date close to the ASSA conference, followed by second-round fly-outs in January and February. A strong candidate whose job market timing does not follow the timing of the economics market can reach out to us earlier, noting the time conflict. We anticipate the position will start September 1, 2018 or on a mutually agreed upon date.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent residents will be given priority. SFU is committed to the principle of equity in employment and offers equal employment opportunities to qualified applicants. All positions are subject to budgetary approval and approval by the Board of Governors.
