Provalis Research is pleased to announce the release of QDA Miner 5. The latest version provides enhanced data portability, sharpened analysis of unstructured text and the ability to easily present results in new visual displays.
These are just some of the new features in QDA Miner 5:
Import from new sources
Import data from major email providers, web survey companies, social media and RSS feeds. This includes: SurveyMonkey, SurveyGizmo, Question Pro, Voxco, Qualtrics, EndNote, Zotero, Mendeley, Outlook, MBox, Gmail and many others.
Import or monitor social media and RSS feeds
In QDA Miner 5, you can create projects from a search on Twitter, Facebook or through RSS feeds. To keep your data current there is a standalone tool that will continually monitor, in the background, those sources and aggregate tweets, posts, or news on specific topics.
Document Overview
A new graphic feature gives you a quick glimpse of the spatial distribution of coding. Bars can be sorted alphabetically, by frequency, first appearance, in codebook order or by color.
New Link Analysis Feature
You can display co-occurrence of coding using a force-based graph, multi-dimensional scaling, or circular layouts. Graphs are interactive and can be used to explore connections between codes.
Geocoding and Mapping
QDA Miner 5 includes integrated geocoding to transform references to cities, states, provinces, countries, postal codes, and IP addresses into geographical coordinates. The GISViewer mapping module allows you to create data point maps, distribution maps and heat maps.
A complete list and more detailed information on these and other new features can be found on the What's New web page, and a free 30-day trial can be obtained from the Download page.
We have also produced a short video that gives an overview of the new features: QDA Miner 5 presentation video
