    **APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING**

    Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Please join us in at our AOM Symposium titled "Recombination in Teams" in Anaheim, where a diverse range of scholars will present the latest research on how teams recombine ideas and knowledge to produce innovation in organizations.  Details for the symposium are below.

    Program Session: 1256 | Submission: 15318 | Sponsor(s): (TIM, OB)
Scheduled: Monday, Aug 8 2016 1:15PM - 2:45PM at Anaheim Marriott in Platinum Ballroom 8

Several scholars have shown that teams are becoming more common in the process of recombining knowledge and developing innovation and that they have the potential to be highly innovative. As a result, there is growing interest to better understand how teams recombine ideas, but there remains many unanswered questions on this topic, especially when compared to research at the individual or organizational levels of analysis. Two fields from the Academy, however, are well positioned to inform this topic. The first is the search perspective, which descends from March & Simon (1958) and has a home in the Technology and Innovation Management Division; and the second is the creativity perspective, which descends from social psychology research and has a home in the Organizational Behavior Division. This symposium brings together scholars from each perspective to present novel research on this topic and engage in a lively discussion with the purpose of moving the field toward a better understanding the dynamics of idea recombination and innovation in teams. It will include two presentations from the search perspective and two presentations from the creativity perspective. Afterwards, Jing Zhou and Jeffrey Sanchez-Burks will discuss the possible ways to broker or synthesize knowledge across this intellectual boundary.
