The purpose of this PDW is to enhance participant's understanding of how to use historical methods to guide inference. The PDW aims to instill in participants the importance of viewing firms and decision makers as temporally situated actors whose action's significance can be interpreted only after understanding the context and antecedent and subsequent events. The PDW advances the argument that historical methods should be employed to provide qualitative, contextual evidence supporting interpretation of clearly identified, strategically relevant events.
