Lecturer/Professor of Practice in Technology and Innovation Management
The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY seeks applications for a lecturer or professor of practice position in Technology and Innovation Management to start in the Fall semester of 2019. The successful candidate's duties will include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in areas such as technological and corporate entrepreneurship, new product development, the management of R & D, and the strategic management of technology-intensive businesses. Successful candidates also will demonstrate a willingness and ability to engage in service to the university community. Active engagement in research is desirable but not required.
The successful candidate must have significant industry experience in managing units related to technology and innovation management. Appointments at the professor of practice level require a work history that includes more senior positions over a longer period of time than for a lecturer. Candidates from a variety of academic and industry backgrounds will be considered. A Master's degree is required; a Ph.D. or equivalent is desirable. This non-tenure track appointment is for three years, renewable.
The Lally School of Management seeks candidates who will contribute to its long-emphasized focus on technology and innovation management. The School's MBA program is built on this theme. Its MS in Technology Commercialization and Entrepreneurship program concentrates on managing technology-intensive companies. Students primarily come from backgrounds in engineering and science and many are interested in serving at the interface between the technical and business sides of companies. We are seeking individuals interested in working in such an environment.
