European Doctoral Innovation, Strategy, and Organization Network (EDISON) Summer School

Date: June 7 – June 12, 2019
Faculty: Francesco Castellaneta (SKEMA), Ludovic Dibiaggio (SKEMA), Alfonso Gambardella (Bocconi, TBC), Tobias Kretschmer (LMU), others to be announced.
We invite early-stage PhD students to submit their application to the EDISON weeklong summer school, a Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität and SKEMA Business School initiative. The 2019 EDISON program will be held on the LMU campus in Munich, Germany.
EDISON aims to deliver intensive doctoral level teaching by providing the latest ideas and trends in research on Strategy, Innovation, Organization and Entrepreneurship and complement the foundational courses in these subjects from their home institutions. Participants will also establish contacts with other PhD students at similar stages of their studies.
The aim of EDISON is to equip students with the necessary breadth and punctual depth of knowledge on the fields covered in the program to enable them to launch a strong research agenda for their PhD and beyond, and to possess enough knowledge about the fields to teach effectively in them.
EDISON takes on the LMU Campus in downtown Munich, a location that offers ample opportunities to socialize and network. The summer school has been designed and conceived by LMU Munich School of Management (Prof. Tobias Kretschmer) and SKEMA Sophia-Antipolis (Prof. Ludovic Dibiaggio) and will comprise faculty from the organizing schools as well as additional leaders in their respective fields.
The event is free of charge and there is a limited number of grants (500€ in value) available to help PhD students with travel expenses.
Benefit for Doctoral Students:
- State of the art teaching on four core topics by top EU faculty
- Networking opportunities with peers at a similar career stage (during coffee breaks, summer school socials, ...)
- Feedback on early-stage ideas and research agendas
- Insights and feedback on managing one's PhD dissertation
