The Early Career Development Committee of the Industry Studies Association is pleased to sponsor the 2015 Professional Development Workshop (PDW) for early career industry studies scholars. It will take place the afternoon of Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 and will be held in conjunction with the Industry Studies Conference, May 26th – May 28th, 2015 in Kansas City, MO. This year, the conference and PDW will be held at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center, a state-of-the-art facility, in Kansas City, MO (
http://www.kauffman.org/who-we-are/kauffman-foundation-conference-center
).
The Professional Development Workshop is intended to support early-career scholars engaged in industry studies research by providing career-related advice and the opportunity to form a network of junior and senior colleagues. The program includes panel discussions with prominent scholars (e.g. journal editors, representatives of funding agencies, and previous best paper award winners) and an interactive paper-development workshop, alongside plentiful opportunity for informal interaction with junior and senior scholars.
This year's confirmed faculty panelists are:
Yongwook Paik, University of Southern California (PDW Co-Chair)
Gurneeta Vasudeva Singh, University of Minnesota (PDW Co-Chair)
Janet Bercovitz, University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign
John Gray, The Ohio State University
J.P. Eggers, New York University
Lee Fleming, University of California-Berkeley
Nitin Joglekar, Boston University
Jeff Macher, Georgetown University
E.J. Reedy, Kauffman Foundation
Chris Rider, Georgetown University
Anand Swaminathan, Emory University
Shaker Zahra, University of Minnesota
To foster informality, collegiality, and open discussion, the workshop will be limited to 50 participants, selected based on a short application. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

The Industry Studies Association sponsors this event, enabling the workshop and reception to be offered without a registration fee. This event is, however, limited to early career scholars who have registered to attend the 2015 Industry Studies Conference. For more details on the PDW, please see:
