Introduction
In the era of big data and ubiquitous technology, customers can be served from anywhere.  This has implications for all service organisations and subsequently the location of work.  As the digital infrastructure (such as fast broadband) improves, there will be more opportunities for working anywhere.  Working anywhere (working from home/telework/telecommuting/smart work centres/hubs) has implications for governments as they grapple with traffic congestion, urban sprawl and an aging workforce.  The appropriate technology infrastructure and support is necessary to support government policies as well as workers.  Management need to have the skills to manage workers across a diverse range of settings - from workers in an office to freelancers (and everything in between).  The final component is the ability to provide the right level of service to the customer.  How can we adopt anywhere working so that the benefits are realised and the limitations mitigated?  

Objective of the Book
The objective of this book is to bring together the seemingly disparate areas of research relating to anywhere working so that government policy makers, managers and workers can make informed choices about adopting anywhere working to achieve competitive advantage.  The objectives are to understand the most current research that informs anywhere working (telework/telecommuting) and to develop a research agenda that builds on the latest empirical research in this area.

Target Audience
The target audience of this book will be composed of government, professionals and researchers working in the field of anywhere working (telework/telecommuting) in various disciplines.  This book will be utilised for informing government policy e.g. flexible work policies, transport, taxation, digital infrastructure and urban development.  The book will inform management on best practice management for anywhere workers and customer service.  The book will inform researchers by developing a research agenda for multidisciplinary research in anywhere working.  This book will provide content for course development on issues relating to anywhere working from government policy, technology, management and service quality perspectives.

Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before February 28, 2016, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by March 21, 2016 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by June 30, 2016, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Anywhere Working and the New Era of Telecommuting. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
