    Instructor/Assistant Professor of Strategic Management

     

    Frostburg State University, College of Business, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Strategic Management for its Department of Management. This position is available to begin Fall 2014. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and includes USM benefits package.

     

    Responsibilities: Primarily teach graduate and undergraduate Strategic Management courses, and other general management courses as needed, both face-to-face and online with appropriate research productivity and service to the institution.

     

    Frostburg State University's College of Business is AACSB accredited and values teaching, scholarly contribution, and service. The College of Business has a growing reputation for addressing the rapidly changing landscape of business through global experiential learning. While the College's primary focus is teaching, maintenance of academic qualifications includes productivity in the area of Intellectual Contribution. Service activities to the College including student advising and committee assignments are expected.

     

    Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate teaching excellence. ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor. Previous teaching experience in the discipline is required. If your degree, or its concentration/focus, is not specifically in Strategic Management you should be able to demonstrate that publications and other intellectual contributions will  make you "academically qualified" in the discipline with emphasis on refereed publications (conference proceedings are included in other intellectual contributions).

     

    Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Strategic Management, or a closely related management discipline for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates should be able to show scholarly productivity with an emphasis on refereed publications that affirms "academically qualified" status within the discipline (conference proceedings are included in other intellectual contributions). Candidates should show evidence of teaching in the Strategic Management field and have familiarity with research methodology. Industry experience is a plus.
