SEAD is offering a postdoctoral fellowship to a promising scholar in the social dimensions of sustainability (e.g., population studies, land use policy, urban planning, natural resource sustainability, agricultural economics) with experience in analysis of social science data.
This position is located at the University of Michigan, School of Information, Ann Arbor, MI under the supervision of Dr. Margaret Hedstrom, SEAD Principal Investigator. The position will involve collaboration with several other institutes and centers at Michigan and with SEAD partners at Indiana University and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Responsibilities
The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to take an active role in SEAD research and development activities for data management and curation, such as locating data sources, identifying researchers requirements for data curation services, and investigating new types of data analysis and data integration tools (e.g. network analysis and visualization).
Required Qualifications
*The position is open to scholars who have completed a PhD within the last five years in the social sciences, environmental science, or related field with experience in social science research methods and data analysis.
*Strong communication skills
*Excellent organizational skills
*Ability to work independently.
Desired Qualifications
*Fluency with SPSS and/or R is highly desirable.
*Experience with user requirements, usability analysis, or interface design is a plus.
