Visiting Assistant Professor in Strategic Management Kansas State University
College of Business Administration Department of Management
STARTING DATE: August 2014
The Department of Management in the College of Business Administration at
the Kansas State University (http://www.cba.ksu.edu/) is seeking to hire a
visiting assistant professor for a two-year term appointment.
Responsibilities will primarily be teaching three sections of Business
Strategy per semester, conducting and publishing academic research, and
assisting in the service mission of the Department/College.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: (1) A Ph.D. degree in Strategic Management from an AACSB
accredited Business School (or within 6-months of degree completion at the
start of contract); (2) demonstrated potential for high quality teaching in
strategic management or related areas; and (3) demonstrated potential for
conducting high quality research and publishing in high quality journals in
the Management discipline.
Preferred: Preference will be given to candidates with (1)
demonstrated/documented university teaching excellence in strategic
management or related areas; (2) published research in high quality
journals; (3) related professional work experience in strategic management;
and (4) strong interpersonal and communication skills.
UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION Kansas State University is
a state-supported institution of more than 23,000 students. The University
is recognized for the quality of its academic programs and for consistently
producing winners of top national scholarships. The 668-acre main campus is
located in beautiful Manhattan, Kansas (population approximately 50,000) a
community nestled in the Flint Hills of Northeast Kansas. The College of
Business Administration is one of 10 Colleges on the main campus. The
College, with 2800 undergraduate and graduate students and 60+ full-time
faculty, consists of four academic departments: Accounting, Finance,
Management, and Marketing. In addition to six undergraduate majors
(Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, Management Information
Systems, and Marketing), the Master of Business Administration degree
program offers specialization in technology entrepreneurship designed to
train future leaders of technology-based ventures. The College is accredited
by AACSB International at the bachelor and master level in business
administration and accounting. The Management Department is the largest
department in the college and grants about 300 degrees each year.
