Description
Conduct research on gender and leadership excellence from an organizational behavior and work perspective, on such topics that may include, but are not limited to careers, work-life, diversity and inclusion, and organizational change across organizations, occupations (e.g., academia, business; STEM) and national contexts. Carry out research projects in consultation with the research director, from proposal stage through development, data collection and project execution, data analysis, writing, and dissemination on the web and in professional outlets. Conduct research analysis and write first drafts of research outputs such as articles, reports and other publications, conference presentations and proposals. Assist with hiring, training and supervision of personnel that report to the Research Director and provide leadership and supervision in organizing and managing other special initiatives, such as conferences.
Qualifications
Required:
Master's degree in management, organizational behavior / human resources, or industrial-organizational psychology.
Two years' of documented research experience on careers, gender, diversity and inclusion, and workplace or related areas (e.g., organizational behavior, leadership, industrial-organizational psychology, gender, diversity and work/life; women and STEM).
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and additional related experience in lieu of degree.
One year of experience writing and conducting data analysis for referred research academic publications.
Knowledge of Human Subject protocols.
Strong academic research writing and data analysis skills (e.g.,study design, draft abstracts, conduct literature reviews, conduct data analysis using quantitative and qualitative research methods, based on results)
Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact, build relationships, and collaborate with all levels of University administration, faculty members and students at Purdue and other academic institutions, external organizations;
Ability to give presentations and train research team members.
Preferred:
One year of funded grant management and / or grant proposal / project management experience.
Experience leading a research project from start to finish (e.g., in an undergraduate or graduate thesis, or as a Research Assistant), and publishing such work (e.g., through traditional outlets and / or internet / social media.)
Working knowledge of University business procedures, policies and fiscal planning / budgeting.
Skills with translational writing and developing grant proposals preferred.
