The Ratio Institute hereby invites young scholars in economics, finance, business administration, law and economic history to submit paper proposals for a cross disciplinary workshop in Stockholm. The aim of this colloquium is to bring together researchers in different fields working on finance and/or innovation. In addition to paper sessions there will be two distinguished keynote speakers and we are delighted to already today present Professor Robert Cooter at Berkeley University as our first keynote speaker.Professor Robert Cooter, is a pioneer in the field of law and economics. In 1980 he joined Berkeley's law faculty, where he is currently the Herman F. Selvin Professor. Professor Cooter has received numerous awards and fellowships and in 1999 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Professor Cooter has published a wide variety of articles applying economic analysis to private law, constitutional law, law in developing countries, and intellectual property rights and innovation.For this colloquium we especially welcome papers dealing with the following issues:● Financing of innovative firms● Innovation and technological change● Law and Finance● Policy Evaluation● Corporate GovernanceSubmitted are expected to be work in progress: they should be complete papers, but still unpublished.- Both the colloquium and hotel accommodation for the participants will be free of charge.- Ratio will reimburse reasonable (economy class) travel expenses for all participants.- The number of accepted papers is limited to 16. Discussants will be appointed to each accepted.An application consists of the following:● A one or two page abstract of the planned paper or a complete paper● Your CV and a short summary of your research interestsApplication deadline: April 20. Applicants will be notified of whether they have been accepted or not by April 30. Deadline for full paper submission is August 1.Eligible for application: Ph.D. students and researchers (postdocs, ass. professors etc.) that have received theirPh.D. within 5 years prior to the date of application (i.e. after April, 2009).Venue: The workshop will be held at the Ratio Institute on Sveavägen 59 in central Stockholm.Submission and enquiries: karl.axelsson@ratio.seIn charge of this colloquium are Professor Andreas Stephan, Associate professor Patrik Tingvall, and Professor Per Olof Bjuggren at the Ratio Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
