    Overview

The core aim of the Groningen Collaboration for Innovation Conference is to contribute to building a broader and more inclusive community on the topic of collaborative innovation. In order to do so, our ambition is to bring together junior and senior academics applying different theories and methodologies at different levels of analysis. The conference will provide an opportunity for PhD students and early career academics to have a wider and richer understanding of collaborative innovation and share their work with more experienced scholars.

Participants will present their work in parallel paper sessions (eight in total each of them with time for four presentations). The small structure of the event will facilitate interactions between participants and the exchange of ideas about the papers presented.

The conference will be preceded by a Doctoral Consortium where PhD students will discuss with Dries Faems (University of Groningen, General Editor at JMS), Andrea Prencipe (LUISS, Associate Editor at JMS), Gerben van der Vegt (University of Groningen, Associate Editor at AMJ), and Jeffrey Reuer (University of Colorado, Associate Editor at SMJ and Consulting Editor at JIBS) about current trends in the field of collaboration for innovation and the challenges young researchers face when attempting to publish in top management journals.

In order to support the participation of PhD students, the organization will grant scholarships (€500 each) to seven PhD students to cover part of their travel and accommodation costs.

    Paper Submission

Participants who wish to present their research at the conference must send a full paper or an extended abstract (seven pages) to gcic@rug.nl no later than June 15, 2016.

PhD students who wish to participate in the Doctoral Consortium must send a motivation letter and a description of their dissertation topic (seven pages) to gcic@rug.nl no later than June 15, 2016.

Papers submitted to the conference and applications from PhD students that wish to attend the Doctoral Consortium will be evaluated and selected by the conference organizers and the members of the Scientific Advisory Board. Authors and PhD students will be informed about the decision before July 1. No specific feedback will be provided in the decision letter.
