The Amsterdam Business Research Institute at VU Amsterdam invites outstanding BSc and MSc graduates to apply to our Research MSc and PhD programmes in Business.

The Amsterdam Business Research Institute (ABRI) covers the business and management research as part of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the research university: Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Faculty members initiate and contribute to the international debate by publishing in and serving the editorial boards of leading research journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal.

We currently invite excellent BSc/MSc graduates to apply: those with a Research MSc or MPhil Degree can immediately enter the 3-year PhD programme, and otherwise they first join our Research MSc programme. Our 2-year, accredited Research MSc, jointly offered with the Amsterdam Business School of the University of Amsterdam, aims to prepare students for a PhD or other research-related position (see movie). The Research MSc is designed to develop the
theory-building skills of students besides strong methodological skills, useful in disciplines such as Strategy, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Technology & Innovation, Organization Theory, Marketing, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship. It is a competitive and selective program (max. 25 students per year) that includes several tailored options, to enable individual mentoring by internationally renowned researcher fellows eg. via research internships and assistantships. Prospective candidates who are interested and eligible can apply here

We offer various scholarships for students of the Research MSc, and its graduates typically have a better position to apply for the fully paid PhD candidate positions at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam –as well as University of Amsterdam– afterwards (deadline 15 March 2017). The deadline for the Research MSc enrollment is 1 April 2017, but scholarships applications already close 1 February 2017; and we admit on a rolling basis!
