    LUISS University (Rome) invites outstanding candidates to apply for the PhD Program in Management. The Program is a disciplined – but not disciplinary – learning path for high potential doctoral candidates. It offers concentrations in strategy, organization, innovation and entrepreneurship, marketing, accounting, and corporate finance. Primary areas of faculty research include: business model innovation; corporate governance; finance for innovation; technology transfer and IPR management, international management; new venture formation, growth, and corporate entrepreneurship; organizational learning and adaptation; public management and accounting; social capital and innovation; and word-of-mouth-led innovation. Faculty focuses on diverse empirical contexts ranging from the aerospace and creative industries to the health service and the public sector. LUISS faculty have published papers in Administrative Science Quarterly, Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of International Management, Journal of Marketing Research, Organization Science, Psychological Science, Research Policy, and Strategic Management Journal.

    The Faculty includes: Andrea Prencipe (Director of the PhD program), Paolo Boccardelli, Matteo Caroli, Matteo De Angelis, Michele Costabile, Giovanan Devetag, Giovanni Fiori, Luca Giustiniano, Maria Isabella Leone, Luigi Marengo, Alessandro Marino, Raffaele Oriani, Enzo Peruffo, Luca Pirolo, Richard Priem, Francesco Rullani, and Paolo Spagnoletti. Visiting professors Dan Levinthal (Scientific Advisor), Andrew Davies, Tim Folta, Alessandro Lomi, Hans Pennings, Toke Reichstein, Vanina Torlò, Jan Van den Ende, and Filippo Carlo Wezel complement the PhD Faculty.

    The PhD program is comprised of four years of full-time study. The first two years are dedicated to coursework, while the third and fourth years are dedicated to research and dissertation. Year 1 consists of disciplinary courses in management and research methods. Year 2 is dedicated to courses on a chosen field of specialization, concluding with the development of a research proposal. Years 3 and 4 are devoted to research and to dissertation preparation, culminating in the submission and defense of the thesis. To develop a program suited to their interests, students are encouraged to gain research experience by closely working with the LUISS faculty and to spend at least one semester at an internationally renowned research university.

    Recent placements include Bocconi University (I), Carlos III University (ES), Copenhagen Business School (DK), University of Hamburg (DE), University of Leuven (B), and University of San Francisco State (US).

    LUISS invites outstanding candidates to apply for the PhD Program in Management. The PhD is an intense and rigorous programme that equips student with the research skills to become world-leading experts in their chosen field of studies. Under the guidance of an internationally renowned faculty, students conduct independent field-based research in strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, marketing, accounting, and corporate finance. The PhD is a 4-year full time programme. All classes are taught in English. Graduating students find placement primarily in the world of research, both academic and non-academic, as well as in large consulting organizations and firms.

    LUISS offers up to six fellowships to attend the PhD. Admitted students are offered a financial support package which includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of approx. 13.500€ net per year to cover living expenses during the 4 years of the degree. Additionally, students have access to funding for research trips as well as a grant increment if they spend a visiting period at a prestigious international university.
