    Executive Director for the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship, Isenberg School of Management

     

    The Isenberg School of Management invites applications for a full-time Executive Director for the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship. The position will also hold a Lecturer (non-tenure track) appointment in the Isenberg School's Department of Management. The Center is the hub for entrepreneurship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and seeks to inspire and connect students, while making the resources of the Commonwealth's Flagship Campus available to startups and ventures.

     

    Reporting to the Vice Dean and to the Chair of the Management Department, the Executive Director is responsible for overseeing implementation of the Center's existing entrepreneurship programs, as well as exploring, developing, and leading new initiatives and partnership opportunities. Collaborating with the Isenberg School's Management Department, the Executive Director will work with the School's leadership to enhance cross-University collaboration and deepen ties to New England/Northeast and global entrepreneurship ecosystems. The Executive Director will work closely with the School's Constituent Relations and Development Offices to create meaningful engagement opportunities for friends and alumni interested in supporting the Center.

    Requirements

     

    A bachelor's degree is required, an MBA is desired, and a PhD or DBA is preferred.  Seven or more years of directly related entrepreneurial experience is required, along with strong, established relationships in the entrepreneurship community.  Other minimum qualifications include demonstrated experience in entrepreneurship ecosystem (e.g., start-ups, investors, accelerators, service providers, etc.); a proven track-record of building and effectively managing high performing teams; experience leading student and/or alumni volunteers; demonstrated and excellent presentation and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and high level initiative.  Experience teaching entrepreneurship in a higher education setting is preferred.
