When & Where: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM, Saturday 7/26 at Bella Center (Hall A-A2-m3)

What You'll Learn: Many scholars find it difficult to position their work within broader academic fields. This workshop teaches you how to create "foundational maps" - visual guides that help you position your research within academic fields. You'll learn to identify key theories and thinkers relevant to your work, pinpoint knowledge gaps, and effectively communicate the significance of your research.

    What We'll Do:

    • Learn the foundations approach to academic research
    • Work in small groups discussing your research areas
    • Create your own foundational map using GenAI
    • Practice "silky path" skills for explaining your research clearly
    • Leave with a draft map and actionable insights

Who Should Attend: Researchers at any career stage in social sciences (strategy, economics, information systems, organizational behavior, etc.) who want to strengthen their theoretical foundation and improve how they communicate the importance of their work.

    Requirements:

    • You must have an AI subscription (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude), which is required for the hands-on activities.
    • Limited to 50 participants.

    To Apply: Email FoundationalMap@gmail.com with:

    1. Your CV
    2. A brief paragraph (2-3 sentences) explaining why you want to attend and what you hope to gain
