    Dear Colleagues,

Please join us for the AOM PDW on "Culture & Technology: Building Bridges across Entrepreneurship & Innovation Contexts."

    When: Saturday, August 05, 12:30 PM - 02:00 PM
Where:  Boylston Room (Mezzanine Level), Park Plaza

    PDW Overview

Cultural industries are sites of innovation and entrepreneurship. The two contexts -  culture and technology – have much in common. Yet research on these two contexts is often separated by a chasm. On the one hand, scholarship on innovation and entrepreneurship is often confined to traditional technology-based products and services. On the other, cultural industries are often seen as niche, with their entrepreneurial and technological aspects often ignored. The goal of this PDW is to bridge the chasm between these contexts.

In the context of their own research, the PDW panelists (see below) will demonstrate how cultural industries can be rich contexts for developing and testing theories of innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity. The panelists will also share insights and advice, based on their role as authors, reviewers and editors, to help scholars successfully navigate the challenges of publishing work in unique cultural contexts.

    Panelists
Mary Benner (University of Minnesota): Intersection of technology change and innovation in creative industries
Giacomo Negro (Emory University): Reward systems and innovation in creative industries
Olenka Kacperczyk (London Business School): Entrepreneurship in creative industries

    Organizers:
    • Mitali Banerjee (McGill University)
    • Hyejun Kim (HEC Paris)

We have allocated plenty of time for Q&As and discussions to share the experiences and insights of the participants. We look forward to seeing you in Boston.
