    Dear colleagues,

    we are pleased to share the Call for Papers for Symplatform 2026, an international conference dedicated to the study of platforms and platform thinking that will take place at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in September 2026, with strong relevance for the TIM Division community.

    Symplatform welcomes extended abstracts (max 1,000 words plus references) that place platforms at the core of the study. Contributions may draw from technology and innovation management, information systems, strategy, marketing, business models, digital technologies, blockchain, Web3, and regulation. Empirical, conceptual, and literature review papers are all welcome.

    Key dates

    • Extended abstract deadline: 2 April 2026

    • Notification of acceptance: mid May 2026

    • Conference dates:

      • 1 September 2026 – online

      • 3–4 September 2026 – in person, Milan

        • 3 September: academic research sessions

        • 4 September: sessions open to academics and practitioners, with a focus on managerial implications


    Symplatform 2026 will also host a dedicated special track linked to the forthcoming Technological Forecasting and Social Change Special Issue on Platform Thinking, offering authors the opportunity to receive pre-submission feedback from the guest editors.
