PDW at AOM 2024: #410: Generative AI for Algorithmic Problem Identification And Selection In Science and Innovation

    (Saturday, August 10, 2.00-4.30 pm)

Identifying and selecting novel and relevant problems are pivotal initial steps in science and innovation projects. In this PDW, we will explore the opportunities and challenges that may arise from using GenAI for problem identification and selection. Let's dive into interdisciplinary knowledge, tackle biases, and discuss how GenAI may (or may not) have an impact.

    What you can expect:
    1. Expert Talks: Gain inspirational insights from cutting-edge "perspective talks" by Markus Baer, Carolin Häussler, Ola Henfridsson, Hyunjin Kim, Frank Piller, and Dashun Wang
    2. Roundtable Discussions: Deepen your own ideas! Each roundtable focuses on the expertise of the host
    3. Hands-On AI Experience: Participate in a small intervention to gain first-hand experience with using GenAI for problem identification and selection, leading to critical thinking about AI's role in research and innovation
