We are currently inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in Management at the University of St.Gallen. The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the Institute of Management and Strategy (IFB-HSG) and will work on topics at the intersection of strategy and digital technology. The duration of the position is 2 years, and the expected starting date is August 1st, 2026.
The postdoctoral researcher will work under the supervision of Tim Meyer and will be part of the SNSF-funded research project "Decentralization and Platform Governance". The objective of the project is to investigate how decentralization shapes decision-making and governance design in digital platforms. The selected candidate will thus explore research projects in the area(s) of digital technologies, platforms and ecosystems, blockchain technology and/or organization design. We offer close collaboration and strong support in pushing research projects forward and developing a solid research pipeline. The postdoctoral researcher will also have time to pursue independent projects.
The position requires strong expertise at the intersection of strategy and digital technologies, ideally with a focus on digital platforms. Applicants should also have solid data and methodological skills. The candidate is expected to independently identify, collect, and analyze relevant data.
Your Profile
- Applicants should have completed, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. in Management, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise and strong research interest in strategy, digital technologies, platforms and ecosystems, blockchain technology and/or organization design
- Excellent academic record and strong work ethic
- Strong enthusiasm for research: the ideal candidate will view this position as a stepping stone towards pursuing an academic career
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis, with prior experience using quantitative/econometric methods and large datasets
- High degree of initiative, independence, and strong organizational skills
